Sri Lanka Developer Forum — September Meetup — Simplify React App Login with Asgardeo

We had the September meetup on 26th September, at the Microsoft Sri Lanka office, and we had 63 attendees from various sectors, including a few from our customers. We had attendees from the Government, Universities, and Private Sector.

Nipuni Paaris and I delivered a great 02-hour session on Simplifying React App Login with Asgardeo. It was a fruitful session, and the attendees were very much engaged after the session asking a lot of questions.

We started the session with an overview of IAM. We covered common challenges related to traditional identity management and explained the advantages of centralized/ modern IAM.

Then we went into the next section which we talked about browser-based applications and the security patterns used in the industry. We did a detailed practical demonstration of implementing user login for React apps, including steps for logout, securely storing identity tokens in the browser and customizations to meet your needs. We also talked about common vulnerabilities, including understanding common security vulnerabilities specific to React apps along with best practices to overcome them.
